People often ask if it’s they should “stage” their home before listing it for sale. The short answer is yes. We want to ensure that all functional aspects of your home are highlighted. But I believe it’s important to take it one step further and “style” my homes before listing them. The difference being that staging a home can often leave it cold and unwelcoming. Not an ideal feeling for potential purchasers to experience when first seeing your home.

I want to ensure that not only are all the amazing features and functions of your home highlighted, but people really get a feeling of what it’s like to live in this space.

The first step to ensure that people can envision themselves in a space, is decluttering a home of all unnecessary items. Keeping only the items that speak to the function of the space. Now if you have children or pets, this doesn’t mean putting all of their belongings away! We get it, you have a life. They have things just as we do. But I know the amount of toys my kiddos leave laying around, so we may need to pare these down. 

Living in Bloor West Village, it not uncommon that we often need to use our space to serve multiple functions. And that’s fine! But the way we present it needs to be organized and highlight its use.

From basements to bedrooms, I select a color palette that works with not only the style of the house and the neighbourhood but also speaks to the potential purchaser that is viewing your home.
